There are still many young students with a passion for economics or artistic creation, looking for an opportunity, a look, a helping hand. At SHAKA MEDIA LIMITED, we firmly believe that the growth of a company must also rhyme with the elevation of its community. And this commitment is lived out on a daily basis, sometimes discreetly, but with depth.

When a workshop becomes a gateway to the future

In November 2020, in a modest room at the University of Burundi, more than 20 students from the Club d'Actualité Économique gathered to discuss an unfamiliar topic: the basics of blogging. That day, SHAKA MEDIA LIMITED wasn't there to sell a service, but to pass on a skill.

After the training session, participants got a certificate

"We wanted to give them an insight into the digital world and the opportunities it offers. Because today, knowing how t o communicate, structure an idea, write for the web... these are the keys to accessing employment", confides one of the team members.

Among the participants is Ella Iradukunda. A few months later, she landed a job with a major online media company. She would later confide: “I really got a lot out of SHAKA MEDIA LIMITED.

Like her, two other young people from this training program found their place in the world of digital media. The impact was there: discreet, but real.

From writing to color: supporting the arts in Burundi

SHAKA MEDIA's commitment doesn't stop at words. In April 2024, the company joined forces with the "Ikindi" art exhibition, a collective project organized by Urundi Space and Harmony House, in collaboration with Buja Sans Tabou. The aim: to give visibility to young Burundian visual artists.

SHAKA MEDIA provided sponsorship for the professional photography of the works exhibited, and offered media support via its platforms to promote the event.

Behind every shot of a work, there was a promise: to make art visible, saleable, exportable. "Our role here was simple: to amplify what deserves to be seen.

A responsibility expressed with creativity

SHAKA MEDIA LIMITED celebrates its 5th anniversary this year. And while digital is its domain, it's people who remain at the heart of its projects.

By training, supporting and promoting, the agency confirms that even a young company can have a profound and lasting impact.

After all, building a company also means building a community.
