If you're a business or non-profit organization, here are 3 things you'll gain from creating content on your channels (obviously, if you're not creating content on your channels, you're losing them):

Your business needs it. It's one thing to have a good product or service. It's quite another to make it known to the customers you're targeting. There are other classic visibility channels like billboards, TV and others. But the cost of visibility on social networks and websites is very minimal compared to these.
2. Customers/funders
The ultimate goal of enhanced visibility is to reach prospects, and then turn them into customers and build loyalty. Donors are non-profits, but if you analyze them carefully, they're also customers, since they buy (give money to) the projects they like. So even NGOs need to look at social networks and their website as a sales channel.
3. Positioning as an expert in your field
Being present/visible on the web (social networks and website) will position you and your company as an expert in your field. People will look to you as a reliable source of inspiration on issues related to your field (clothing, health, food, etc.).
Our mission is to help you promote what you do via YOUR communication channels, so that your current or potential customers/buyers can always find the information they need, when they need it...and of course, so that at the end of the day, they'll sign a check for you.
